The growth of cannábis in the African continent exists since at least the 14th century, in which the colonization by the Dutch took part. Quickly the growth of this plant extended to all the continent and began to be socially very accepted. In that zone of the planet the marijuana was called dagga. Over the years the plant was acclimatized to the meteorological conditions of these countries and the African sativas arose.

In the 70's decade the famous cannabis activist Ed Rosenthal made several trips around the world in search of new genetics for it's genetic crosses and found in the port city of Durban this wonderful plant of which he saved seeds. Back in the USA Ed Rosenthal crossed and selected Durban plants, of which he gave the best specimens to his breeder friend Mel Frank who continued the optimization in terms of resin content and flowering times. From there, two lines have been obtained, the A that Frank kept and the B, which he gave to the breeder Sam The Skunkman, who continued optimizing it for the reduction of flowering times.

The result of this selection is the genetics as we know it now, a brain effect sativa, with high power and production and surprisingly short flowering, if we take into account that it is an almost 100% sativa strain.

Durban Seeds

In our shop we have available different strains that present the sativa genetics of Durban. Among the available we highlight:

First of all the Durban Poison strain, from Dutch Passion. The legend says that this seed bank has the original strain as developed by Sam The Skunkman. Strain of powerful effect, very sativa.

From the bank Sensi Seeds comes the Durban, both in feminized version and regular. This strainis the result of the acclimatization made by Sensi Seeds of the original Durban and the result is a plant with even faster flowering and sativa effect.

Finally we offer the automatic version of the original Durban, the AutoDurban Poison. With this variety we can achieve the superb results of the original Durban in just 77 days.
