Cultivation
Our plants are harvested both in natural spaces and in cultivated fields. Whatever their origin, the collectors are legally authorized to do so. The process is simple: they cut the branches and leave the roots to allow future harvests. Exports are controlled by the USDA (US Department of Agriculture), which certifies that all legal and environmental requirements are met.
Plant growth depends on climate and annual rainfall. The size of the bundles can therefore vary from one harvest to another: a difficult season and less abundant harvests lead to a smaller bundle size. In drought years, the concentration of essential oils is higher.
How to use the bundle
The purification ritual is a universal practice.
1. You need a bundle of dried sage tied with cotton, a feather or fan and a bowl to collect the ash that is resistant to heat, such as an abalone shell.
2. Light one end of the bundle, preferably with a match. Blow to stoke the fire and let it burn out - watch out for sparks! Then place it on top of the shell.
3. Sahumar: bring the smoke close to the people participating in the ritual. With the feather, direct it towards each chakra with the intention of healing and purifying it.
Remember that intention is the basis of any incense: if your heart is pure and your yearning noble, you will enhance its effects.
Ventilate after use. Do not inhale smoke directly.
