At the moment he was an inexperienced grower who was unable to distinguish the males from the females, so he ended with all his crop pollinated and the result was disastrous. 

With all his crop spoiled and a lot of seeds in hand, Sherbinski decides to start trying this new strain and what he got was a surprising result, with touches of red fruits, citrus and orange, which reminded him much of a taste of an ice cream that he had very close to home when he was a child, the Rainbow Sherbert. Since the neighborhood where he was born was called "Sunset" in San Francisco, he decided to put the names together and the result was the Sunset Sherbert. It was created the strain that, with a little genetic selection and a later crossing with one of his ancestors (the Girl Scout Cookies) gave birth to a whole new strains of plants that gained fame in the last years.
