The growth of cannábis in the African continent exists since at least the 14th century, in which the colonization by the Dutch took part. Quickly the growth of this plant extended to all the continent and began to be socially very accepted. In that zone of the planet the marijuana was then called dagga. Over the centuries the plant was acclimatized to the meteorological and local conditions and the African sativas arose.
In the 70's of the last decade the famous cannabis activist Ed Rosenthal made several trips around the world in search of new genetics for it's genetic crosses. In the port city of Durban he found this wonderful plant and saved seeds to work with them back at home. Back in the USA Ed Rosenthal bred and selected Durban plants. Later he gave the best specimens to his breeder friend Mel Frank who continued the optimization in terms of resin amount and flowering times. From there, two lines have been obtained, the A that Frank kept and the B, which he gave to the breeder Sam The Skunkman, who continued trying to shorten the flowering period but keeping quality.
The result of this selection is the genetics as we know it now, a brain effect sativa, with high power, good yield, surprisingly short flowering, furthermore if we take into account that it is an almost 100% sativa strain.
In our shop we offer to you different strains with Durban genetics. Among the available we highlight:
The Durban Poison strain from Dutch Passion. The legend says that this seedbank has the original strain as developed by Sam The Skunkman. A strain of powerful effect and very sativa with short flowering.
From the Sensi Seeds bank we have available to you Durban, both in feminized version and regular versions. This strainis the result of the acclimatization work made by Sensi Seeds, taking the original Durban to improve it. The result is a plant with even faster flowering and higher sativa effect.
Finally we offer the automatic version of the original Durban, the AutoDurban Poison. With this variety it is possible to get the original queality of Durban harvested in just 77 days.
